Monday Grab Bag: An uneventful weekend

Nothing happened this weekend.  CU/Oregon?  Naw, never heard of it.  This was a CU bye week, right?  Thank God for bye weeks!

Click below for the bag...

Chip Kelly is an asshole -

Contrary to what my trauma-scarred brain might want me to say, I do have a thought about Saturday's game.  Chip Kelly is a fucking schrute-bag.  Sure, Oregon could've named their score Saturday afternoon, yet settled on a rather tame '45,' but running up the score isn't just the number of points you put on the board.
Ralphie ran, Coach Schrute-bag went for 2, and I left before halftime.  That was my Saturday.  From: the BDC
Facing a team with minimal healthy D-1 caliber talent remaining on the field, Coach Schrute-bag decided to go for 2 after the opening touchdown.  What an asshole.  There's no excuse, none, for Rochambeau-ing an essentially defenseless team like that.

CU posed no threat, absolutely none, on Saturday.  Everyone knew this going in; CU is just a glorified high school team right now, yet Coach Fucktard decided to play with his food before he ate it.  They could've put up 90 and I wouldn't have cared.  It's cheap shit like going for two in that situation that boils my ass.  Save that bullshit for teams that can give you a challenge.

Chip Kelly is a cunt.

Oh, and now Tyler's hurt too.  I can jinx with the best of them, can't I?  Fuck this shit.

Notes from around football nation -

College Football

Texas Tech @ Oklahoma - What, what?  OU lost to these guys?  In all seriousness, everyone, from broadcasters to fans in the stadium, acted like this game was over early in the second half, while I sat there knowing OU would mount a comeback.  Tech barely survived to shock the Sooners, and give the rival OSU Cowboys a solid shot at the BCS title game.

Wisconsin @ Michigan State - Russell Wilson dragged the Badgers back from oblivion, only to see a Hail Mary bounce off a facemask, and into the waiting hands of a Spartan receiver for the winning score.  That sucks.

NFL

Broncos @ Dolphins - I was worried there for a minute.  Tebow looked like crap, the Broncos couldn't score, and the Dolphins looked pretty comfortable going for their 1st win on the season.  But, with 5 minutes to go, the whole game turned around.

Gotta give them credit, when the chips were down, the Dolphins did a great job tanking that game.  Seriously, watch the replay, the Fins were jogging on defense.  I've never seen a better tank job.  Mission accomplished!  Mr. Luck may now begin house shopping in South Florida.

Colts @ Saints - LOL, 62 points.

Chiefs @ Raiders - Carson Palmer was put in an impossible situation.  Having spent next to no time with his new teammates, he's thrown into a losing ball game having played no football in over a year.  Those 3 picks he threw meant nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Basketball notes -

- Single game tickets go on sale today.  I was calling the ticket office for an unrelated matter, yet can't get anything but a busy signal.  That's a good sign!  Buff Nation is so desperate for a winner that they've jumped on the mens basketball bandwagon in massive numbers, jamming up the lines in the ticket office.  Now Coach Boyle just has to deliver...

- Ty Wallace and Daymean Dotson were in Boulder to check out CU over the weekend.  Ty is the last remaining high-profile target in the '12 recruiting class for CU, and it's vital that the Buffs lock him up.  According to 'yungc' on Twitter (via Allbuffs) he'll announce his decision (between CU and Cal) this week.  Fingers crossed...  I haven't said anything about Dotson yet, but he's another 'tweener who can play many positions, and looks like he would fit nicely into Coach Boyle's system.

World Series -

Quietly, this World Series is playing out as one of the better ones in recent memory.  While game 3 wasn't that competitive, it did feature some Pujols-driven history, and the other 3 games have been tight and dramatic. Tied at 2 games a piece, I honestly have no idea who is going to win this damn thing.  If you can put down the football for just a moment, you'd do yourself a favor by switching over to game 5.
Every WS homer he hits is worth an extra $1 million per year on his next contract.
Just mute the Fox broadcast, 'cause Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are as awful as ever.

Happy Monday!
